To my exclusively breast pumping moms…
It’s hard out here 😩 the commitment, the patience and consistency.. it’s so much. I’m 6 months in and there are days I want to just stop but I look at my baby and tell myself I’m doing this for her. I don’t want to have to give her formula (nothing towards my formula babies in the world!). I’ve been there with it with my first child and it was EXPENSIVE! I couldn’t pump as much with her when I went back to work and my supply dropped drastically and then just fully depleted. This go around, I’m a full time stay at home wife and mom so I have nothing but time. But Geesh. It’s so tiring.
There was a time where I said forget it and pumped maybe 4 times a day but began noticing I was only getting 4oz per pumping session and pumping about 12-15oz a day vs the 10-12+ oz per session that I was getting. And some would say “why don’t you just breast feed her that way you don’t have to pump”. I did. For the first 3-4 months but I was always still full after each session. Oh and not to mention how she would rip my nips to shreds by pulling on them when releasing. It’s a no for me lol. So I had to change it up. I had to get my head in the game. Suck it up and stop being lazy and just pump (and of course hydrate hydrate hydrate)!
A lot of people always ask “how did you get your supply to increase so much??” Or “what do you take to increase your supply??” Honestly.. I don’t take anything. I tried it and it did NOTHING for me. I used the brewers yeast, I did the oatmeal thing everyday, but no results. It may be different for some but for me, it didn’t work. So all I can say is drink your water! I try to drink a gallon a day. And PUMP PUMP PUMP! When it comes across your mind, PUMP! When you’re sitting watching tv, PUMP! If you’re eating dinner or a late night snack, PUMP! Hell, even if you’re cooking, PUMP! I went from 4 pumps a day to about 8 and I see the change.
So stay in the game mamas! We got this 😩 it can be draining, but we are doing this for our babies. I’m 6 months in and I plan to feed her milk up until at least a year. If I can do 2, then praise The Lord! But we will see when that time comes lol 💕

That’s AMAZING but I will say 1oz pump sessions are normal because this is definitely an oversupply just so other mammas won’t feel down about it! :) you’re lucky I pumped and my milk was high lipase so it would smell weird taste nasty after freezing or long hours so I’d have to pump and quickly use the milk the same day! I did stop pumping and yeah I felt full at times but I just expressed with my hands and fed baby and my supply stayed I fed her for almost 1 year and a half and it did get to a point I never felt full but knew she was getting enough ! You are STRONG to pump that many times a day 👏👏👏
