I received my Lemon8 x Benefit box today! The box contain Benefit Benetint and I got so excited, I had to try it immediately! 🫶🏻
I had tried Benetint long time ago, like years ago and I forgot how much I love it. I also really like how it can be used as a lip tint as well as a cheek stain. 💄
The tint doesn’t start too vibrant so you can actually work and build it up to the red color that you like. It feels like water and not drying at all. Very good for someone that has dry lips like mine. 🫦
Thank you Lemon8! 🍋

... Read moreOkay, so I'm absolutely head-over-heels for Benetint – it’s truly a classic for a reason! That perfect rose-tinted lip and cheek stain gives such a natural look that's hard to beat. But let's be real, while it delivers on its promise of a smudge-proof quality and a beautifully buildable, lightweight texture, the price tag can be a bit of a splurge for some. If you’re like me and love the Benetint vibe but are always on the hunt for a more budget-friendly alternative or 'dupe,' you're in the right place!
I’ve tried quite a few products aiming to mimic Benetint's magic, and I've found some fantastic contenders that offer a similar effect without breaking the bank. What makes Benetint so special is its watery, non-drying formula that blends seamlessly into the skin, giving a fresh flush of color to both lips and cheeks. When looking for dupes, I prioritize these features: a similar natural-looking tint, a comfortable lightweight feel, and decent longevity.
One of my top recommendations often comes from the K-beauty world, where lip tints are an art form! Brands like Peripera and Romand offer incredible options. For example, Peripera’s Ink Airy Velvet or Water Tint series can give you a gorgeous, long-lasting stain. While some shades might be a bit more vibrant initially, they dry down to a lovely natural finish, and many have that airy, non-drying feel that makes Benetint so comfortable. Romand's Juicy Lasting Tints are also fantastic; they start with a glossy finish but leave behind a beautiful, natural-looking stain that lasts for hours, perfect for that 'my lips but better' look.
Another great option, especially if you want that true watery texture, is the Etude House Dear Darling Water Tint. It’s super affordable and gives a sheer, buildable wash of color that’s very reminiscent of Benetint. It’s perfect for layering if you want a more intense rose-tinted shade, and it feels incredibly light on the skin, just like the original. For a Western drugstore alternative, while not an exact dupe, some liquid blushes or lip stains can cross over. Products like the NYX Professional Makeup Sweet Cheeks Soft Cheek Tint or e.l.f. Cosmetics Glossy Lip Stains, though primarily for lips, can often be dabbed on the cheeks for a similar effect, offering a lovely, blendable flush of color.
Of course, no dupe is ever 100% identical, but these alternatives capture the essence of Benetint’s natural look and buildable color payoff. They're excellent for achieving that fresh, 'no-makeup' makeup look without the premium price tag. Experimenting with different formulations – whether watery, gel, or a hybrid – is key to finding your personal holy grail that gives you that coveted rose-tinted glow. Happy tint hunting!
