Every book lover needs to visit this bookstore 📚

While exploring Portland, Oregon, I found Powell’s City of Books, and it completely lived up to the hype. 📚

Three stories, endless shelves, and rooms that felt like a maze. I was in book heaven.

I only bought a couple of books because I couldn’t fit everything I wanted in my suitcase 😂, but one thing is for sure: I’ll definitely be back.

If you’re ever in Portland, this bookstore is a must-visit!

Visiting Powell’s City of Books truly feels like stepping into a literary wonderland. What struck me most was the sheer size: three expansive floors packed with every genre imaginable. Navigating through its rooms, brimming with both new releases and rare finds, felt like an adventure itself. It’s easy to lose track of time as you browse through the maze of shelves. One of the highlights of my visit was discovering bestsellers and hidden gems side by side. I noticed a section featuring fiction bestsellers, which included some popular titles that I was excited to see in person. The diversity of books available—from popular contemporary fiction to niche indie authors—makes this place a haven for all kinds of readers. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, ready to offer recommendations if you need help picking your next read. I wish I had more suitcase space because I found so many books I wanted to bring home! Not only is Powell’s a bookstore, but it also serves as a cultural hub in Portland, connecting travelers and locals through the joy of reading. If you plan to visit Portland, setting aside a few hours for Powell’s is a must. Whether you’re hunting for the latest bestseller, a classic novel, or just want to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of one of the world’s largest independent bookstores, this place won’t disappoint. Also, for anyone planning a visit, be sure to check out the sections dedicated to travel books and unique finds—it’s an excellent way to combine your love for books with your travel journey. Powell’s truly captures the spirit of the book community and offers a unique experience worth returning to.
