I need to stop sleeping on these.
This hit my TBR last year sometime and I had heard so many wonderful things about it. I kept putting it off though bc it is YA and I just hadn’t been feeling those vibes. Of course I am now mad at myself for doing that. I borrowed the audio book from my local library but now have added it to my trophy shelf wish list.
While the book was great the narration was amazing. Narrated by the author gives another layer to the emotions.

'Gay the Pray Away' fits perfectly into this discourse, providing a raw and emotional insight into the struggles faced by the protagonist, Valerie, as she navigates the confines of her upbringing in a cult-like environment. The author, Natalie Naudus, not only writes with authenticity but also narrates the audiobook, adding an unparalleled layer of emotion to the storytelling experience. The personal touch has been widely appreciated by listeners, as it makes the journey feel even more intimate and relatable.
