3 things I gave up 🌸✨🍋
There’s so much on social media to talk about the negatives of having kids but the reality is they’re wonderful. Little versions of you can be trying at times but overall they have unconditional love and kindness they’re just born with.
Becoming a mom is really not anything I ever expected for my life, but I genuinely wouldn’t want to change anything about it now that I am.
I love my kids and I love the sacrifices that we’ve made and the changes we’ve made in our lives to better benefit them.
They deserve it. They’re wonderful. We love them so much.
Motherhood is a transformative journey that often requires significant pivots in lifestyle and priorities. Many women share similar experiences when they enter this new chapter of life. Firstly, the shift in career paths is common; for instance, while bartending offers financial rewards and social experiences, the unpredictable hours can clash with family needs. Parents frequently find that providing a stable environment for their children takes precedence over previous careers, steering them towards more flexible job options. Moreover, the shift from independence to shared moments can be bittersweet. Some mothers find themselves reflecting on solo outings they once enjoyed and realize they miss those experiences, yet simultaneously cherish the new adventures of parenting. The realization that those built-in besties, their children, offer companionship that can fill the void of lost solitary activities is a beautiful perspective. Self-forgiveness is also crucial. Many mothers grapple with guilt over decisions made for the family's benefit. Acknowledging that it's okay to let go of perfectionist standards can lead to a more fulfilling journey that embraces the chaos and joy of parenting. Ultimately, the essence of motherhood is rooted in love, sacrifice, and shared experiences, which create lasting memories and closer family bonds.
