Target Essentials
Benefits of each vitamin listed below.. I also take few others but this is what I got today that someone could benefit from.
Nature’s Bounty Vitamin B-12 (1000 mcg)
Main benefit: energy + nervous system support
* Helps your body turn food into energy
* Supports nerves and brain function
* Can help with fatigue (especially if you’re low in B12)
* Important if you eat low meat/dairy or have absorption issues
Note: 1000 mcg is a high dose, but B12 is water-soluble so excess usually just gets peed out.
Nature Made Women’s Multivitamin
Main benefit: “coverage” for daily gaps in nutrition
* Fills in missing vitamins/minerals from food
* Usually includes: Vitamin D, A, C, E, zinc, folate, B vitamins
* Supports:
* immune system
* skin, hair, nails
* hormone-related nutrient support
* energy metabolism
Think of this as your “base layer” vitamin.
Note: Don’t double up too hard with other B vitamins since this already contains some.
Stool Softener (docusate-type softgels)
Main benefit: makes bowel movements easier, not stronger
* Pulls water into stool → makes it softer
* Helps if stools are painful, hard, or straining causes discomfort
* Works gently (not a stimulant laxative)
Important reality:
* It helps “ease passage,” but doesn’t fix constipation causes (like low fiber, slow gut motility, or meds like clonidine)
Benefiber (prebiotic fiber)
Main benefit: improves digestion + stool bulk + gut bacteria
* Feeds good gut bacteria (prebiotic)
* Helps form softer, more regular stools over time
* Can reduce constipation and bloating (but sometimes increases gas at first)
Note: This is one of the most important long-term items bought for gut health.
How they all work together (simple view)
* Multivitamin → fills general nutrient gaps
* B12 → boosts energy + nerve support
* Benefiber → fixes stool consistency + gut health long-term
* Stool softener → short-term “help right now” for painful bowel movements
