You will not regret waiting patiently on the Lord. You will not regret presenting your projects, your decisions, your goals, your requests to the Lord. You will not regret when you do it because God's will is perfect. Do not despair. In desperation we always make many mistakes and later they weigh us down. Waiting on the Lord is confirmation, it is security. Wait for God to answer you, wait for God to tell you son/daughter, that is the right path. There you will find stones, there you will find thorns but you will not feel them, you will see them but you will not feel them because I will be with you.
