After reading about the incredible talents at Hwa Chong Institution, I was motivated to learn more about these enrichment classes and their benefits. Many students attend enrichment activities like Wushu, golf, and even strategic games like Go after school. For instance, students practicing Wushu often mention how it enhances their physical fitness and mental focus, which complements their academic pursuits. Despite challenges like 'RIP knees,' their passion keeps them committed. Golf enthusiasts share that their interest began simply for fun, and four years later, they continue to practice, sometimes considering turning professional in the future. Playing Go, a strategic board game, has also gained attention for its role in relieving stress and sharpening minds. Students note that while Go is not as stressful as studying, it still offers a refreshing mental challenge. Overall, these enrichment activities provide a perfect balance to academic rigors, allowing students to develop new skills, foster discipline, and build camaraderie. I personally find that engaging in varied extracurricular efforts like these not only broadens horizons but also enhances well-being and resilience—something all students can benefit from.
