I went to target yesterday and found these cute halloween press ons by Olive & June and if ya haven’t tried Olive and June’s press on nails collection, it is soo good. I live by it when I don’t have my nails done. They last me about a week a half and could last me longer too but I get bored of the color or design quickly😭🤣 I bought the little ghosts one bc they were soo cute 🫶🏼
What are ya’ll thoughts ? Press on nails or Acrylics? Do you guys like the Olive and June Brand?
... Read moreOkay, so I’m totally obsessed with getting into the Halloween spirit, and what better way than with some seriously spooky nails? While hunting for new press-ons, I started brainstorming ways to incorporate one of my all-time favorite spooky season icons: the black cat! You know, those sleek, mysterious, and sometimes a little mischievous felines that just scream Halloween.
I stumbled upon some amazing Olive & June 'Instant Mani' press-ons at Target recently, and they’re already a game-changer for my quick nail makeovers. The original article mentioned how long they last, and I totally agree – I can get a good week and a half out of them before I even think about changing them up, mostly because I just get bored!
Now, if you're like me and love the idea of black cat nails but aren't a pro at intricate nail art, press-ons are your secret weapon. I saw some 'black nails with silver spiderweb designs' in the Olive & June collection (like the 'Along Came a Spiderweb' design from the images) that would make an incredible base for a black cat mani. Imagine starting with those dark, already spooky nails! You can easily transform them into adorable black cats with just a few simple steps.
Here’s my go-to trick: grab a small detailing brush or even a toothpick. Using a contrasting polish like white, yellow, or even a sparkly orange, create two small almond shapes at the base of the nail for the eyes. Then, with an even tinier dotting tool or the very tip of your brush, add a black pupil in the center of each eye. For the nose, a tiny pink or black triangle near the cuticle works wonders. And don't forget the whiskers! A few delicate lines extending from the nose area instantly bring your black cat to life.
What I love about this approach is how customizable it is. If you've got some of the 'iridescent ghosts' (like the ones from the images!) or even 'velvet ink' designs, you can totally integrate the black cat theme. Maybe have a couple of accent nails with full black cat faces, and then other nails with subtle paw prints or tiny cat silhouettes. You could even use some small nail stickers if you're not feeling artistic. It's all about making it fun and easy!
Beyond just black cats, these Olive & June press-ons are fantastic for layering. The 'Velvet Ink' design, for instance, provides a gorgeous dark, glittery canvas that's perfect for adding small pumpkins, bats, or even tiny witch hats with white or orange polish. And those 'Iridescent Ghosts'? They’re already so festive on their own, but pairing them with a black cat design on an accent nail just elevates the whole look.
The key to making any DIY design on press-ons last is a good top coat. After your black cat details are dry, seal everything in with a high-quality clear top coat. This not only protects your artwork but also adds extra shine and durability, making your spooky season nails last even longer. It’s such a simple way to get a salon-quality look right at home, especially when you’re busy with all the other Halloween preparations. So, next time you're at Target, definitely check out the Olive & June collection and get creative with your Halloween nail designs – you might just surprise yourself with how amazing they turn out!
