During my 4-day trip to Batam, I really appreciated how accessible and affordable the wellness and entertainment options were. Staying at the Grand Mercure Batam Centre was a treat—its location right in the city made it convenient to explore nearby malls and eateries. The gym and swimming pool were great for starting the day energetically, and the rooftop bar, Celeste, offered an unexpectedly affordable yet classy experience perfect for unwinding after a long day. One highlight was definitely trying the salted egg crab at Love Seafood Nagoya, where fresh and cheap seafood left a lasting impression, especially since I could enjoy it multiple nights without any digestive issues. For a sweet treat, Melt Me Dessert & Coffee Space served memorable cheesy desserts like the melty cheese and choco lava cake, perfect for dessert lovers. For indoor fun, One Batam Mall with the Hello Monster Adventure Park was fantastic for both kids and adults. Its $7 entry for two hours gave us access to basketball courts, arcades including DDR, and other activities, providing an energetic break from shopping. I found the supermarket inside the mall worth a visit too; it felt authentic and less touristy, which is ideal if you're looking for local snacks or daily necessities. I also treated myself to hair spa and nail services at Mieda Beauty Bar, where the prices were surprisingly reasonable. The $20 hair spa was deeply relaxing, and nail extensions and coloring were affordable. This made me realize Batam is not just a food and shopping destination but also a great place for pampering. For sushi lovers, Sushi Ozu stood out for its fresh and budget-friendly options, especially the salmon belly rolls, which were a delicious find. Spa Central Penuin was another excellent spot for massages, offering diverse treatments with good pricing that could conveniently be booked online. Whether you’re looking to relax with headspas and massages, indulge in seafood and desserts, or enjoy shopping and fun indoor activities, Batam delivers all this with affordability and ease. This itinerary can be customized based on personal preferences, but I’d highly recommend covering these must-visit spots to fully enjoy Batam’s vibrant scene.
