It’s easy to feel hurt or defensive when someone speaks harshly or seems distant, but the truth is that many people carry invisible wounds and internal battles. When I started to view their behavior through this lens, a sense of calm washed over me. People tend to give what they carry inside. If a person is fractured or struggling, their interactions might come from a place of hurt, frustration, or fear—not from a desire to harm others. This perspective helped me practice empathy instead of taking things personally. For instance, if a friend snaps at me, rather than reacting instantly, I remind myself they might be dealing with stress or a personal crisis. This mindset shift has vastly improved my relationships and mental well-being. Additionally, I found that healing starts with patience—both for yourself and for others. People often do not know how to heal their own wounds and so their pain manifests outwardly. By understanding this, I learned to set healthier boundaries while still offering kindness. Recognizing that not everyone's anger or sadness is about me was liberating and encouraged me to focus on my own growth instead of absorbing negativity. In essence, embracing this awareness fostered a deeper sense of peace and connection in my life. I encourage anyone feeling overwhelmed by others’ actions to try viewing those moments as opportunities to practice compassion. After all, everyone is carrying their own meaning beneath the surface, and sometimes, the most real thing we can offer each other is patience and understanding.
