NYC matcha whitechocolate scone‼️100% worth it✨

Woke up way too early just for this matcha white chocolate scone… and it was 100% worth it.

They only make 6 matcha scones a day — SIX!! I finally got one by showing up at 8:30am. (By 9? Gone.)

The scone: buttery, crisp on the outside, soft & dense inside, and the white chocolate melts perfectly into the matcha. A dream.

Also obsessed with their pound cakes —

• Matcha

• Earl Grey

• So moist and rich, around $5 each and usually still in stock by noon.

If you’re a scone person (or just a matcha lover), this is your place. Don’t sleep in!

My biggest piece of advice, learned from a few missed opportunities, is to get there *early*. Like, plan to arrive by 8:30 AM, especially if you're visiting on a weekend. They only bake six of these daily, and they vanish quicker than you can say 'matcha magic.' I remember one morning, I thought 9 AM was early enough – nope, completely gone! It adds to the mystique, but also the satisfaction when you finally hold one in your hands. But what if the scone gods aren't smiling on you that day? Don't leave disappointed! King's Street Coffee has a secret weapon: their pound cakes. I'm absolutely obsessed with both their Matcha and Earl Grey pound cakes. They’re incredibly moist, dense, and rich – a perfect consolation prize, or even a primary target on their own. You'll often see them neatly displayed, sometimes with a 'Matcha $5.05' tag, which feels like a steal for the quality. While the 'Matcha Scone $4.99' sign tempts you for the main event, these pound cakes are usually still in stock past noon, making them a safer bet if you're not an early bird. What makes this specific matcha scone so special, beyond its rarity? It's the perfect harmony of textures and flavors. You get that delightful crispness on the outside, a tell-tale sign of a well-made scone, giving way to an incredibly soft and dense interior. The matcha flavor is authentic and earthy, not too sweet, which I find complements the rich, melting white chocolate chips beautifully. It’s not just a scone; it’s an experience for your taste buds. Beyond the baked goods, the atmosphere at King's Street Coffee is just lovely. It's a cozy spot, often bathed in natural light, with lots of greenery, creating a peaceful escape from the NYC hustle. Pairing your scone or pound cake with one of their perfectly brewed coffees – I always go for an iced coffee – truly completes the picture. It’s the kind of place where you want to linger a bit, savoring every bite and sip. For fellow matcha lovers and scone aficionados, this spot is a definite must-visit. It's a testament to the incredible bakery scene in NYC, where hidden gems like King's Street Coffee are perfecting unique treats. Don't be afraid to explore your local bakeries and try their specialties. You never know when you'll stumble upon your next obsession, but if you're in NYC, put this matcha white chocolate scone at the top of your list. The early wake-up call is a small price to pay for such a delightful start to your day!
