🥟 Authentic Northern Chinese Breakfast in Flushing

The ONLY thing that could get me out of bed at 7AM on a weekend? Tang You Bing (fried sugar flatbread) 🤭. Heard yesterday that Sihai Ju makes them, so of course I had to rush over this morning — and it was so worth it!

I ordered a full spread:

✨ Tang You Bing (crispy & sweet fried bread)

✨ Doufu Nao (savory tofu pudding)

✨ Wontons

✨ Pork buns

Every dish hit the spot, but the wontons completely blew me away 🥹. The tofu pudding was as authentic as back home, and the pork buns instantly brought me back to childhood breakfast tables in Beijing 🤣.

Of course, I couldn’t leave without grabbing a cup of sweet soy milk to-go 🥛 — simple flavors that really comfort the soul.

💸 The best part? All this for just $17 — crazy value for the taste and portions. They also sell fresh-cut beef & lamb slices for hotpot, and around lunchtime you can find hearty northern staples like claypot dishes, zhajiangmian, and dalu mian.

Flushing never disappoints, but this spot made me especially nostalgic. As a Beijinger, finding such an authentic northern brunch in NYC makes me so excited 🤩.
