Something I love - Going to church on a Sunday afternoon ⛪️❤️🙏🏻
It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle, isn't it? We're constantly chasing the next big thing, scrolling through endless feeds, and sometimes, we forget to truly live in the moment we're in. When I first started on Lemon8, one of my biggest goals was to share a truly unfiltered glimpse into my life, not just highlight reels. It’s about being real with ourselves and with others, acknowledging that life isn’t always perfect, but it’s always worth experiencing fully. For me, finding joy often comes from slowing down. Like that feeling after a peaceful Sunday afternoon at church – it’s a moment of calm and reflection that truly recharges me for the week ahead. But joy doesn't just have to come from big, planned events. It’s in the quiet cup of coffee in the morning, the laughter with friends, or simply noticing the way the light hits the trees outside your window. These small, everyday moments are where true happiness often hides. Cultivating an unbothered mindset has been a game-changer. It means releasing the pressure to be perfect or to constantly perform for others. It’s about accepting myself, flaws and all, and trusting my own path. This isn't always easy, especially with so much external noise, but practicing mindfulness and focusing on what truly matters to me helps immensely. One of my favorite ways to stay unbothered is by setting clear boundaries with my phone. Designating 'no-phone zones' or specific times to check messages allows me to truly disconnect and immerse myself in my surroundings without constant distractions. I’ve also found that journaling about my daily blessings, no matter how small, really helps to shift my perspective and ground me. Taking a few minutes each day to simply breathe and observe my surroundings without judgment can make a huge difference in staying present. Another simple practice is a 'sensory check-in' – really noticing what I can see, hear, smell, taste, and feel in any given moment. This instantly pulls me back into the now. Being real also means allowing ourselves to feel all emotions, not just the 'good' ones. It’s about being authentic in our struggles as well as our triumphs. When we embrace this authenticity, we create space for genuine connection and deeper fulfillment. It’s a journey, not a destination, to live a truly unfiltered life. We’re all learning, growing, and figuring things out, and that’s perfectly okay. Don’t let the pressure of perfection steal your present moment. Instead, lean into the beautiful messiness of being human. So, let’s all try to take a moment today, right where we are, to truly enjoy the present. Because these moments, these unfiltered glimpses of life, are what truly make our journey beautiful and full of joy.
