3 Things Stanford MBA‘s First Quarter Taught Me✨

Just wrapped up 2024 and wow - what a quarter! 🤯 As we kick off 2025, wanted to share my biggest takeaways from Q4...

1️⃣Your squad = your best teachers. Never thought I'd say this, but my classmates teach me more than any textbook. My roommate's casually launching a hedge fund (as you do), my neighbor's grinding on his YC startup, and every single person here has an incredible story. Those late-night convos hit different, from brainstorming market strategies to sharing life stories over pizza. The real MBA happens in these moments! 🌉

2️⃣Storytelling isn't just a class - it's literally everything here. Lead Labs changed my whole perspective on leadership. Thought it'd be all about frameworks and theory, but turns out it's way more about understanding your values and sharing your authentic story. Who knew business school would have me digging this deep? 🤔

3️⃣Be real about who you are. Coming in, I thought I needed to act a certain way or fit into some "perfect MBA student" box. But the TALK sessions each week completely changed that. Watching classmates share their vulnerable, honest stories made me realize - the most impressive people here are just... themselves. No pretense, no facade. Just authentic stories and real connections. And somehow that's when the magic happens.

Ready to crush 2025! Still can't believe this is my life now!#stanford #mbalife #embracevulnerability Stanford Graduate School of Business

This approach not only enhances personal growth but also equips future leaders with the tools to inspire teams and drive change. Moreover, embracing vulnerability in discussions creates a culture of openness, enabling students to forge deeper connections. The shared vulnerabilities shared in TALK sessions reveal that genuine expression can lay the foundation for lasting relationships. Thus, navigating the MBA experience becomes more than just academic achievements; it's about cultivating meaningful connections and personal authenticity that propel one’s career forward.
