My honest thoughts on this serum🙂

💌 Brand: de ‘Alba

The d’Alba First Spray Serum is one of those products that feels nice and hydrating, but honestly… for me it’s not the biggest game changer.

I use it twice a day, morning and night, mostly because it gives my skin a little extra hydration and glow without feeling heavy. The mist is super fine and the packaging is beautiful, but if I had to rate it honestly, I’d probably give it a 5/10.

Not bad at all, just not a “must have” for me 🤍

5/16 Edited to

... Read moreLike many of you, I was utterly intrigued by the buzz around the d'Alba First Spray Serum. It seemed to be everywhere, promising radiant, hydrated skin with just a few spritzes. After incorporating it into my routine for a while, I’ve got some deeper insights to share beyond my initial quick take. While my original rating of 5/10 still stands for my personal needs, let’s unpack what makes this "yellow mist" a standout in some ways and perhaps not a "game-changer" in others. First, let’s talk about that iconic yellow two-phase liquid. It’s visually appealing, isn't it? This isn't just for aesthetics; it signifies a blend of oil and water-based ingredients. The top yellow layer is typically an oil component, providing nourishment and locking in moisture, while the bottom clear layer is water-based, offering hydration. Before each use, you absolutely must shake the bottle well to properly emulsify these two phases. This ensures you get an even distribution of both the hydrating and nourishing benefits with every mist. I found that if I didn't shake it enough, sometimes I'd get more of one phase than the other, which can impact the overall feel and efficacy. It’s part of the ritual, really, and crucial for experiencing the product as intended to achieve that hydrated & radiant skin look. Next, let’s get into the mist application itself. This is where this serum truly shines for many. The d'Alba First Spray Serum boasts an incredibly fine mist, which is a huge plus. It lands on the skin almost imperceptibly, creating a refreshing veil rather than a heavy spray. I've found a few ways to integrate it effectively: After Cleansing/Toning: It’s excellent as a hydrating step right after cleansing and toning, before heavier serums or moisturizers. It preps the skin, making it more receptive to subsequent products. Mid-Day Refresh: If your skin feels a bit tight or dull during the day, a quick spritz over makeup (or bare skin) can instantly revive and add a dewy glow. Makeup Prep/Set: Some users love it as a primer for makeup or even as a finishing spray to melt powders into the skin for a more natural finish. The fine mist ensures even coverage without disturbing makeup, which is a big win! One of the star ingredients d'Alba proudly highlights is white truffle from Italy. This isn't just a fancy food item; white truffles are celebrated in skincare for their potent antioxidant properties. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, which can help protect the skin from environmental damage, improve elasticity, and promote a brighter, more even complexion. D'Alba positions this serum as a luxury experience, and the inclusion of such a high-value ingredient definitely adds to its allure. For those seeking anti-aging benefits or a boost in skin vitality, the white truffle extract is a compelling factor. So, why did I still land on a 5/10 despite these great aspects? While it certainly delivers on being "nice and hydrating" and gives a "little extra hydration and glow," for my specific skin concerns, it wasn't the transformative product I'd hoped for. It didn't address deeper issues like hyperpigmentation or provide intense, long-lasting moisture that my sometimes-dry skin craves in colder months. It’s a fantastic booster for hydration and radiance, and the packaging is indeed beautiful and convenient, but it didn't replace any of my targeted treatment serums. It's truly "Hydrating but not life changing" for *me*. If you're someone who loves the experience of a luxurious mist, needs a quick hydration boost throughout the day, or wants to incorporate some antioxidant benefits without a heavy feel, the d'Alba First Spray Serum could be a lovely addition to your routine. Just manage your expectations; it might not be the single solution to all your skin woes, but it's a pleasant, effective product for what it offers.
