It’s common to feel torn between the person we are now and the person we once were — this struggle can often stall progress and lead to feelings of dissatisfaction and impostor syndrome. From my experience, the hardest part is overcoming the mental barriers that tell us to hold back. For example, when you’re passionate about creating content like music, dance, or videos, those mental hurdles can make even sharing your work difficult. You might think, "It's just videos," or "I’m not as funny or cool as before," which can be paralyzing. But these negative thoughts aren’t a reflection of reality—rather, they’re symptoms of fear and perfectionism. What helped me was reminding myself why I started creating in the first place. It’s about joy, expression, and connection—not perfection. Giving myself permission to embrace imperfection and vulnerability helped me move past the feeling of being an imposter. Posting content again, no matter how small or imperfect, reignited my passion and gradually rebuilt my confidence. If you’re feeling stuck or battling self-doubt, try setting small, manageable creative goals. Celebrate each little step rather than fearing the outcome. Remember, growth isn’t linear and nobody expects you to be the same as before. You’re evolving—and that’s a beautiful thing. Ultimately, fighting for who you want to be means accepting the parts of yourself that have changed while honoring where you've come from. It’s okay to be tired, uncertain, or scared. Use that as fuel, not a roadblock. Keep moving forward, and embrace the creative journey at your own pace.
