Are you ready for Christ return

Lately, I've been spending a lot of time meditating on Matthew 7:14. That verse, “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it,” really hit me. It makes me think deeply about the choices we make every single day. Are we truly opting for the easy, wide path that the world often presents, or are we intentionally seeking the narrow way that leads to true, eternal life? It's so easy to get caught up in daily distractions, but this verse is a powerful reminder that our eternal destination depends on how we navigate our journey here. This journey ties so closely into what the Bible says about being ready for Christ's return. The passage in Mark 13:33, which states, “Be on guard, be alert! YOU DO NOT KNOW WHEN THAT TIME WILL COME,” echoes this sentiment perfectly. It’s a profound call to vigilance, not fear. It means not just passively waiting, but actively living in a way that honors God, making sure our lamps are full and our hearts are prepared, so to speak. So, how do we truly “stir God’s word and live by it each day” in a way that keeps us steadfast on this narrow path? For me, it starts with consistent and intentional time in the Bible. It’s not just about reading it quickly, but truly reflecting on its message, allowing its truths to transform my heart and mind. I try to ask myself, 'How does this apply to my life right now? What is God trying to teach me through this passage?' This active engagement helps me internalize the Word. Prayer is another crucial element. It's our direct line to God, where we can ask for guidance, strength, and discernment to choose the narrow gate in every situation. I’ve found that when I pray continuously, as the Scripture encourages, my perspective shifts, and it becomes easier to align my actions and desires with His will and purpose for my life. Living by God's word also means actively practicing what I learn. If Matthew 7:14 talks about the narrow path, then I need to honestly examine my own actions, my words, my thoughts, and my attitudes. Am I showing love to those around me, even when it's difficult? Am I quick to forgive? Am I seeking justice and mercy in my interactions? These are the tangible fruits of living a life dedicated to Christ, and they are clear evidence that I am truly 'on guard' and 'being alert,' as Mark 13:33 advises. It's about letting faith move beyond just belief, into action. It’s a daily commitment, sometimes a struggle, but always, always worth it. The call to be ready for Christ's return isn't a burden; it's an incredible invitation to live a life of profound purpose, meaning, and deep connection with our Creator. It’s about choosing that narrow path, day in and day out, knowing that its ultimate destination is beyond anything we could ever imagine.
