🐾 Meet Sadie – A Loving Soul in Need of a Home 🐾
Sadie and her 8 puppies were born at Houston BARC, where their fate was sealed on the euthanasia list—until they were saved with just 11 minutes to spare. I was lucky enough to foster them, giving them a chance at life.
She was a proud momma, devoted to her puppies, and fiercely protective in the loud, overwhelming shelter. Her protective nature against the chaos around her is what landed her and her babies on that list.

Once she was in my home, I saw a different Sadie—gentle, eager to please, and incredibly smart. She had a strong prey drive, a loyal heart, and a willingness to learn. But life has not been easy for her.
When Sadie and her puppies were sent on their so-called “freedom ride” to Virginia in December, I believed they were safe.
Instead, I recently discovered that:
🔹 2 of her puppies died from parvo.
🔹 54 dogs, including Sadie and her remaining 5 puppies, were surrendered to a local shelter.
🔹 The 5 surviving puppies were adopted—but Sadie is still there, alone.
Her puppies inherited her striking beauty—one brown eye, one blue. Several of them had blue eyes, just like their mom. Now, they are in homes while Sadie waits, once again, in a shelter.
💔 Sadie is currently at Orange County Shelter in VA—a no-kill shelter, unlike BARC, where her story began. She is timid but starting to come out of her shell. Hopefully, with time, they will see the loving, devoted, and trainable girl I knew.
Sadie deserves a safe, loving home—a warm bed, toys, and the security of knowing she is finally where she belongs.

🐾 This is a shelter, NOT a rescue. With the intake of so many dogs, they are in need of supplies. I just placed an order for treats and a toy for my Sadie girl. If you can donate, it would mean the world.
♥️ My heart is broken knowing where Sadie is now. As I hold my own rescues, Jasper and Moqui, I hug them a little tighter each night—wishing I could do the same for Sadie.
