Okay, so I just HAVE to share my incredible experience at the Wink Multi-Brand Designer Pop-up store in NYC! If you're looking for unique holiday gifts or just want to treat yourself, this is absolutely a must-visit. What makes it so special? It's a fantastic Korea + NYC designers holiday market pop-up, proudly women-owned and featuring an amazing array of emerging designers, many of whom are women of color from Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Gambian backgrounds. It truly feels like discovering hidden gems! Walking in, the vibe is so vibrant and inspiring. Forget those generic mall finds; here, every piece tells a story. I spent ages browsing the cutesy clothing – like that gorgeous light blue strapless top with its structured bodice, or the charming beige knitted cardigan with delicate white and light blue flower embroidery. I even saw a super cozy grey zip-up hoodie with ruffles and white lace trim that I almost took home! And for statement pieces, there was a unique 'tteokbokki' coat with toggle closures and a super chic black and white jacket with white flower appliques. It’s definitely a place where you’ll find something truly distinctive for your wardrobe. But it's not just apparel! The jewelry section was stunning. I was particularly captivated by a grey V-neck sweater with pink stripes, accessorized with a one-of-a-kind necklace made from watch faces and charms – so creative! There were also beautiful displays of silver jewelry, including delicate necklaces, rings, and earrings, all arranged so artfully. And if you're like me and always on the hunt for a new bag, you'll love the selection, including an adorable light blue handbag with decorative bows and a colorful charm. Beyond the shopping, it's about the experience. I loved seeing people taking mirror selfies with their potential new purchases, like that person rocking a red leather jacket with a large pink floral design outside. It just shows how much personality these designs have! If you're planning your own trip to an NYC holiday pop-up, here are a few tips I learned: Go Early: Especially for unique items, the best pieces go fast! Bring Cash/Various Payment Options: While most places accept cards, smaller vendors might prefer cash or have specific payment apps. Check Hours in Advance: Pop-ups often have limited and sometimes irregular hours, just like Wink (11/1 - 12/31, Mon-Fri 1-7pm, Sat-Sun 12-7pm, closed Thanksgiving & Christmas). Always double-check before you go! Explore the Area: Pop-ups are often in cool neighborhoods. Wink is on Ludlow St, so there are likely other boutiques, cafes, and sights to enjoy nearby. Make a day of it! Be Prepared to Carry Things: Unlike a mall, there might not be easy storage or many bags provided, so bring a reusable tote or plan how you’ll get your treasures home. Supporting pop-ups like Wink means you're not just buying a product; you're investing in creativity, diversity, and small businesses. It's a chance to get items you won't see everyone else wearing and to connect with the stories behind the designs. Seriously, if you're in NYC this holiday season, add the Wink Pop-Up to your list – you won't regret it!
