I remember being told, "You're too fat to be a fashion designer in Korea," which was not only discouraging but also deeply painful. However, that negativity fueled my determination to create fashion that truly represented and included people like me. Designing clothes that are stylish yet comfortable for midsize bodies requires extra attention to detail and understanding body diversity. I focused on inclusive fashion that embraces all shapes and sizes, which is reflected in my collections today. Starting from my studies at Parsons, this dream grew as I learned more about the global fashion industry and the importance of representation. Growing my brand and seeing it sell in Seoul while setting sights on New York is a testament to the growing demand for #bodypositive and #inclusivefashion movements worldwide. It’s inspiring to be part of a community that challenges outdated norms and allows everyone to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. Sharing these experiences has helped me connect with others who have faced similar challenges and motivated me to keep pushing boundaries in fashion. For anyone feeling excluded by mainstream fashion industries, remember that your body is valid, your style matters, and there is room for everyone’s voice in this space.
