how much I spent as an unemployed student

school is starting soon for my semester friends so I went out a bit more this week before they move out 🥲🥲 but spending money w/ them was so worth it! I choose to have fun memories instead of always having to save my money. But when I do spend money with my friends I am still mindful of the things I should spend such as the food that I plan to eat and the clothing I buy as I am still mindful of my monthly budget. I think I will have a $0 spend soon since my friends will be gone and I won’t be able to hang out w/ them for a long time 😅 #biweeklybudget #lemon8partner

... Read moreManaging finances as an unemployed student can be challenging, especially when trying to enjoy quality time with friends before they move away for the semester. This article highlights the importance of budgeting even when having fun, emphasizing mindful spending on food, clothing, and entertainment while maintaining a monthly budget. According to the detailed breakdown, the student spent $67 on meals with friends, including dining out and boba, and $20 on a game, totaling $87 for the week. These expenses illustrate how prioritizing social experiences can be balanced with financial responsibility. Setting a goal for a $0 spend period after friends leave demonstrates effective planning to recover financially while coping with lifestyle changes. Students can apply similar budgeting techniques by tracking their expenses, distinguishing between necessary purchases and discretionary spending, and planning for low-spend weeks to save money effectively. Outdoor activities like hiking, mentioned as a free or low-cost option, offer valuable alternatives to expensive outings. Overall, maintaining a biweekly or monthly budget helps unemployed students stay on top of their finances while still enjoying social moments. By prioritizing spending on meaningful experiences and essential needs, students can create memorable times and build healthy financial habits for their academic and personal life.
