Unboxing our first book for the first time is such a surreal experience.
We started this project two years ago, just an idea, of coming back to our beginnings as photographers, and to shoot the community of artists that surround us online. We wanted to create a physical object that would ground an algorithm in time and space and showcase creators in a different light, questioning the idea of what influence is today. We spoke about it to everyone that would hear us and one day we ended up speaking to the right person, Larissa who helped us submit it to the Instagram draft program. We got lucky enough to be accepted and this book finally became a reality. After countless months of shooting and editing all around the world, months of mock ups and texts and prints, it’s here at last.
This book was our dream, and holding it physically in our hands for the first time feels very emotional. We couldn’t be more grateful to all the people that helped us make this possible. Thank you.
Creating a physical book from a digital community is a remarkable endeavor that bridges the gap between virtual art and tangible experiences. This two-year journey was more than just a project; it was about reconnecting with the roots of photography while celebrating the vibrant artists who inspire us daily. In an era dominated by algorithms and online metrics, the team sought to ground these fleeting digital impressions into something permanent and meaningful. The decision to feature creators from the online artistic community highlights an important shift in how influence and creativity are viewed today. Instead of relying solely on likes and shares as measures of success, this book offers a thoughtful reflection on the people behind the screens and their tangible impact. Through months of international shooting, editing, and careful curation, the visual narrative showcases the diversity, passion, and stories that thrive beyond digital platforms. One pivotal moment in this journey was connecting with Larissa, who played a crucial role in submitting the project to the Instagram draft program. This opportunity helped bring the vision to life, turning an abstract idea into a physical art piece. The process involved countless iterations of mock-ups, text adjustments, and prints to ensure the final product honored the project's essence. Holding the book for the first time triggers deep emotions—it is a testament to perseverance, collaboration, and creative community spirit. For anyone interested in photography, social media culture, and art documentation, this project serves as inspiration to pursue creative dreams and question how digital influence translates into real-world legacy. This book stands as a unique artifact proving that authentic artistic expression can transcend algorithms and remain timeless.
