For example, the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, featured in the movie's memorable reunion scene, becomes even more magical during the holiday season with its dazzling lights and lively atmosphere. I found that arriving early helps to avoid the biggest crowds and gives you a chance to fully appreciate the decorations. Another must-see is The Plaza Hotel, where Kevin famously stayed in the film. Walking by this landmark really makes you feel like you're stepping into the movie. If you love architecture and classic NYC charm, the area around The Plaza and Central Park is stunning, especially with winter’s touch. Don’t miss the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, where Harry and Marv chase Kevin. It’s a beautiful spot year-round, but winter adds a serene, picturesque quality. Nearby, Wollman Rink offers ice skating like in the film, which is a fun way to embrace the cold season just like the characters. I also recommend stopping by the townhouse at 51 West 95th Street, known as Rob McAllister’s house in the film. It’s fascinating to see where all the clever booby traps were set up in the movie. For those exploring Times Square, it’s fun to recall the scene where Kevin’s mom searches for him amid the bustling crowds and bright lights. Visiting these filming locations provided me with a nostalgic and festive NYC experience that I highly recommend to fellow Home Alone fans and holiday travelers alike.
