Cool coffee shop you want to visit in Chicago
📍 112 N. Green St
About the place: I love the bricks and big windows. I love the seating style. Very chill place. Can get busy pretty quickly. They have the usual coffee orders. They have pastries. I didn’t find any breakfast/lunch sandwich though. It would have been great if they did. Their blueberry muffin was good 9/10. Matcha 6/10. I was surprised they have a bar, so if you’re not feeling drinking coffee you have other options 😄 They also have outside seating. This is more preferable during summer. For now, it’s cold.
If you are working, studying, or just want to hangout I think this place is a good spot.

Okay, let's talk more about Sawada Coffee in Chicago, because honestly, this spot is a gem! When I first walked in, the interior immediately caught my eye. It's not just a coffee shop; it's an experience. The raw brick walls combined with those massive big windows create such an urban-chic, yet incredibly cozy atmosphere. Seriously, the natural light pouring in is fantastic, especially for photos! You’ll also notice the unique design elements like the striking black and white artistic poster on the exterior and that cool red typewriter art – it all adds to its distinct character. Inside, the industrial-meets-warm aesthetic continues with abundant string lights draped across the ceiling, giving it this magical glow, especially as the day turns to evening. The seating arrangement is another highlight. They have a mix of wooden tables and benches, making it super versatile whether you're there to work, study, or just chill with friends. I saw so many people engrossed in their laptops or having lively conversations. It doesn't feel cramped, thanks to the spacious layout, which is a huge plus in a bustling city like Chicago. And when the weather permits, don't forget the outdoor alleyway with its charming wooden picnic tables and more string lights – it’s perfect for enjoying your coffee al fresco. Beyond the aesthetics, the coffee itself is, of course, a main draw. While I was there, I checked out their menu board and saw all the classics done right: from a strong Americano to smooth Cold Brew, and even Pour Over for the connoisseurs. They also have a Strong Drip if you need that extra kick. My matcha latte was perfectly good, but definitely give their coffee a try. And speaking of treats, that blueberry muffin? Absolutely worth it – a solid 9/10, fluffy and bursting with flavor. It’s the perfect companion to any of their expertly crafted coffee drinks. What really sets Sawada apart, and why it consistently ranks among the cutest cafes in Chicago, is this blend of excellent coffee, a unique vibe, and thoughtful design. It’s the kind of place that feels both trendy and welcoming. If you’re searching for "coffee near me" in the West Loop area, or just looking for a truly special Chicago coffee experience, make the trip to 112 N. Green St. You won't regret it. And while Sawada Coffee has a reputation that extends to places like NYC, this Chicago location definitely holds its own with its distinctive character and the buzz it creates. It’s more than just a place to grab a cup; it’s a spot to soak in the energy of the city while enjoying a top-notch beverage.
