... Read moreLiving in Melbourne for over a year and a half, I've had the chance to explore the city's eclectic food scene extensively. One dessert that truly stands out and has become a personal favorite is bingsu, a Korean shaved ice treat perfect for those warm Melbourne days. Near Queen Victoria Market, places like Homm Dessert, Bing Chilling, and Nimbo offer some of the best bingsu varieties I've tried — from fruity to creamy options, each bowl is refreshing and unique. Melbourne’s coffee culture also pairs perfectly with these treats. I often visit small roasteries like Dukes Coffee Roasters or Brother Baba Budan, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee complements the icy sweetness of bingsu. Beyond desserts, Melbourne’s mix of international cuisines is incredible. For bagel lovers like me, spots such as Hector’s Deli and Mile End Bagels are must-visits—they rival even some of the world’s best. And for those craving Japanese fare, I recommend Michelin-starred Mensho Tokyo Ramen and the wallet-friendly Udon Yasan. When planning your Melbourne food journey, remember to explore different neighborhoods—each offers its own culinary gems, from Thai fusion at Kan Eang to hearty HK cafe staples at Heyday. This city embraces diversity on every plate, making every meal an adventure worth savoring.
