2D1N phillip island itinerary | recos by locals

i’ve been to Phillip Island three times in the past two months (thanks to visiting family and friends) and somehow I still find new things to do every time!

most activities are free other than the parks, which costed A$58 for three parks. honestly, it was SO worth it for how close we got to the penguins and koalas 🐧🐨

Phillip Island is definitely worth the 2-hour drive from Melbourne if you ask me; it’s such an iconic and unique spot.

Save this post so you can steal my itinerary!

... Read morePhillip Island is more than just its iconic penguins — it's a gem for those who appreciate nature, wildlife, and good food. Besides the Penguin Parade and Koala Conservation Reserve, the island offers several unique experiences you shouldn't miss. Start your visit with the San Remo Pelican Feeding at noon – it's free and quite a sight to see these majestic birds up close. Afterwards, treat yourself to fresh fish and chips at the San Remo Fishermans Co-Op, a local favorite spot known for its crispy calamari rings and perfectly cooked fish. For nature lovers, the Cape Woolamai Walk provides four different trail options ranging from easy strolls to challenging hikes. The views from the top are breathtaking and the landscapes vary from rugged cliffs to calm beaches. Don’t miss checking out the Shipwreck of SS Speke, an intriguing piece of history visible along one of the walking trails. As night falls, take the opportunity to go stargazing on Phillip Island — away from city lights, the night sky dazzles with stars and creates a peaceful end to your day. For a more comprehensive experience, consider purchasing the 3 parks pass which includes access to the Penguin Parade, Koala Conservation Reserve, and Churchill Island farm. It costs about A$58 and is absolutely worth it for the up-close wildlife encounters and the chance to learn about local fauna and farming history. Phillip Island feels like a fantastic getaway destination whether you're visiting solo, with friends, or on a romantic weekend trip. Every visit offers something new to discover and enjoy!
