Bangkok - Wildlife Edition (Search for Moodeng)
We just realized that we actually go to bangkok yearly..
But this time, we have a special itinerary.. not city stroll but a wildlife visit.
It’s my partner’s birthday, and she just really want to see Moodeng, the cutest hippo!!
So i searched and found a way to make this wish come true! 🤭🫠 in KKday they have this package for “Khao Kheow Open Zoo Private Tour” i chose the group for 2.
It’s just few hours away from bangkok, we didnt want to stress ourselves waking up early so we requested a pick up from hotel of 10am.
The driver is very nice, and pick us up on time. It’s few hours of drive, i think 2-3hours. But its smooth we just slept in the car.
Then when we reached, we bought some drinks from the nearest cafe in the parking, then we rent a golf car. We specifically told the driver that we wanted to see Moodeng so we told him we only wanted to go to her area.. he also drive our golf car so we really just enjoy ourselves, then since Moodeng is still sleeping he just suggested to go some nearby sightseeing that we can enjoy so we go to the feeding time for rhino, giraffe, and the elephants. We also stop by the capybara bathing place, penguin show. we also saw Tiger just walking openly but with water distance. haha it’s quite nice being in open zoo. you can feel that it’s a real wildlife not a caged animals.
after this Zoo experience, the driver suggested to eat somewhere near that we really enjoyed! love the seafoods and its really worth it! Then we drove back to hotel.
It’s a great day spent. 🤗 im looking forward for any of you to able to do the same soon.
Kkday : Khao Khew Open Zoo Private Tour (Chonburi) $130.30
If you're planning a visit to see Moodeng and other wildlife at Khao Kheow Open Zoo, here are some tips from my experience to help you make the most of your trip. First, booking a private tour package like the one offered through KKday is convenient — it includes hotel pickup and a personal driver who even helps navigate the golf cart to your desired spots. Moodeng can be tricky to find since she often naps quietly in her enclosure, so keep your expectations realistic, but the zoo makes up for it with the variety of animals you can see freely roaming their large habitats. Watching the rhinos during feeding, seeing elephants swim underwater, and catching the penguin show were some highlights for us. Don’t miss stopping by the capybara bathing area, which is surprisingly charming. The open design of the zoo allows you to experience a more natural environment for the animals instead of traditional cages. If you want to avoid early morning rush, scheduling a late morning pick up worked perfectly for us. Lastly, the drive to and from the zoo is fairly smooth, so you can relax en route. We ended our day with a delicious seafood meal nearby, recommended by our driver. Overall, this wildlife outing is a great way to add an adventurous and meaningful experience beyond typical Bangkok city tours. I highly recommend it if you want to get close to unique animals like Moodeng and enjoy a peaceful day in nature.
