園芸を続けてい ると、日々新たな発見や挑戦があります。私の庭では、ストロマンテサンギネやディスチディア・ナムコック、サンスベリア「ローレンティ」など、個性的な観葉植物が元気に育っています。特にこの季節は、強い陽射しに植物が生き生きとし、成長の実感が得られるため、とても嬉しいものです。 しかし、今年は予想外にヤスデが大量発生し、木にまで登っているのを見つけて驚きました。園芸をしていて初めての体験で、土中だけでなく雨の時期には高い場所にも移動する習性があると知り、その生態に感心した一方、肥料にはなるものの葉や鉢が汚れてしまうため、やはり対処が必要だと感じました。 ヤスデ以外にも蜘蛛が棲み着いていたので、園芸は単なる植物の世話だけでなく、庭全体の生態系を管理することが重要だと感じています。私の場合は、丁寧に葉や鉢を水で洗い清潔に保つことを心がけています。雨の跳ね返りによる汚れも見逃せないので、次の雨が来る前にしっかりと手入れすることで、植物への悪影響を防いでいます。 また、チランジア類の子株が成長し、見ていてとても楽しく、園芸の醍醐味を改めて感じています。梅雨時期は根腐れなどのトラブルも起こりやすいので、仕立て直しのタイミングも見極めながら無理せず様子を見ています。 園芸は時に失敗や困難もありますが、それも含めて楽しむことが上達への近道です。私の失敗談や成功体験が、同じ趣味を持つ皆さんの参考になれば幸いです。美しい観葉植物を育てる喜びを共有しつつ、ますます充実した園芸ライフを送りましょう！
