Books that supported my personal growth 📚

Do you love to read? It’s hard to get into the habit at first, but with the right books you will never regret reading!

I always make sure I’m reading books that teach me, help me grow, change my perspective and introduces me to a new way to look at things. I’m not a fan of fiction.

My time and energy are limited so in this phase of my life, I need to make sure my time is spent on doing what helps me move forward.

Growth is not an option over here 🫡 #books #selfimprovement #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth #75hard

... Read moreI completely get it – diving into reading can feel like a big commitment, especially when life gets busy. But if you're anything like me, you know that investing time in the right books is one of the most powerful ways to fuel your personal growth and truly transform your mindset. I've found that non-fiction, particularly, has been my secret weapon for gaining new perspectives and pushing myself forward. When I was tackling intense challenges, like during my #75hard journey, the books I chose weren't just entertainment; they were essential tools. One book that deeply resonated with me, and I believe is implied by some of the powerful messages I came across, is David Goggins' *Can't Hurt Me*. Its raw honesty and focus on mental toughness completely changed how I viewed my own limits. It taught me that true strength comes from pushing past what you think you're capable of, helping me build incredible resilience. It's not just about physical challenges, but about mental fortitude that applies to every aspect of life – a real game-changer for self-empowerment and motivational insight. Beyond sheer grit, cultivating a growth mindset and achieving a sense of authentic happiness and success have been central to my reading choices. While I haven't found one single 'ultimate guide' with that exact title, I've discovered incredible insights scattered across various works that collectively serve that purpose. For instance, understanding how our habits shape our destiny, as explored in books like James Clear's *Atomic Habits*, has been monumental. It's not about grand gestures but small, consistent improvements that build into significant personal development. These types of books offer a practical blueprint for personality development, showing you how to intentionally design your environment and routines for better outcomes. Another area I've focused on is gaining clarity and purpose. Books that help you understand your values, set meaningful goals, and approach challenges strategically have been invaluable. Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a classic for a reason; it provides a holistic framework for living a principle-centered life, which for me, translates directly into personal growth and self-improvement. It's about proactive living, beginning with the end in mind, and truly understanding what matters most. For anyone looking to embark on their own reading journey for self-development, here's my personal advice: Know Your 'Why': Before picking up a book, ask yourself what specific area of your life you want to improve. Are you seeking motivation, a new skill, or a shift in perspective? This will guide your choices. Don't Be Afraid to Put a Book Down: If a book isn't grabbing you or providing value after a few chapters, it's okay to move on. Your time is precious, and there are countless other books waiting that might be a better fit. Mix It Up: While I lean towards non-fiction, exploring different genres or authors can sometimes spark unexpected insights. Implement, Don't Just Read: The real magic happens when you apply what you learn. Take notes, reflect, and try to integrate new concepts into your daily life. These books aren't just pages; they're mentors, guides, and catalysts for change. They've helped me navigate complex situations, stay motivated, and continually evolve. If you're ready to unlock your full potential and embark on your own path to happiness and success, I truly believe these kinds of reads are an indispensable starting point.
