4 ingredients High Protein cheesy Nan bread
You don’t have to wait hours to make Nan bread. I made this 4 ingredients high protein Nan in less than 30 min.
I used:
2 cups self rising flour
1-2 tbsp oil
1 cup plain yoghurt (Greek/low fat)
Mozzarella cheese
**To make self-rising flour at home: for every 1 cup of flour, add 1 tsp salt and 11/2 tsp baking powder.
I brush my Nan with melted butter, minced garlic and chopped parsely for that shine and garlicky flavor.
Enjoy with whatever, I paired mine with Lentils curry#naan bread #naan
Making homemade naan bread doesn’t have to be a complicated or time-consuming process, and this 4-ingredient high-protein cheesy naan recipe is a perfect example. One of the keys to its success is using self-rising flour, which cuts down on prep time since you don’t need to wait for the dough to rise. I personally enjoy brushing the naan with a mixture of melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley right after cooking. This step not only gives the naan a lovely shiny finish but also infuses it with a rich garlicky flavor that pairs wonderfully with the mozzarella cheese inside. If you don’t have self-rising flour on hand, making it at home is simple: just combine all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt in the proper ratios, as outlined in the recipe. Greek yogurt is another great ingredient here that boosts the protein content while keeping the naan soft and tender. Plus, using low-fat or plain yogurt means the bread isn’t too heavy or oily. The mozzarella cheese melts beautifully inside, creating little pockets of gooey cheesiness that you’ll want to savor with every bite. From personal experience, this recipe is incredibly versatile. I tried it with lentil curry for a complete meal, but it also works well with any grilled meats, vegetables, or even as a base for wraps or sandwiches. The quick prep and cooking time make it a go-to for busy weeknights when you crave something homemade yet fast to prepare. If you want to experiment further, you can add herbs like cilantro or cumin seeds directly into the dough for extra flavor layers or try different types of cheese like cheddar or paneer for variety. Overall, this cheesy garlic naan is a winner for anyone looking to enjoy traditional Indian flavors without the long wait typically associated with naan bread making.
