CROTIA Honeymoon!!

I just came back from my honeymoon in Crotia!!

So I'm sharing my key learnings from my 2 weeks travel in Crotia!!

1. The souvenirs in Zagreb are the most expensive!!

Since we had a flight from Dubronik to Zagreb before heading back to Seoul, we wanted to buy all our souvenirs in Zagreb but it was the wrong choice!! The souvenirs in Split, Dubronik, Zadar, Sibernik were much cheaper?? (Olive oil, truffle, lavender etc.) Especially the shop called discover crotia, it's a chain store and it's actually alot cheaper than the souvenirs in Zagreb!

2. There are quite a lot of interesting experiences to try!

Since we drove around and had a lot of free time, we went truffle hunting (which is so fun, and even had a great meal prepared after), swam with horses (it's horse riding but passing through a river so technically you're in the water with the horses), and had dinner in the sky (seeing the sunset and Seaview while dining in the sky), island hoping was honestly meh, the islands in Turkey were much better!

3. If you get a parking ticket like me :') you get 50% off if you pay within 3 days!

This one hit me hard, but it's actually quite hard to find parking in the city, and people park on the pavement (half on the pavement, half along the road) and that's too scary for me since im not that good at driving, so I just parallel parked along some road but unfortunately it wasn't considered a parking lot, so I got fined :(

You can pay using any bank/post office. Don't worry everything will be okay!

Overall, Crotia was super fun but overall quite expensive, heard from the locals that the inflation over the past few years were crazy, especially since they just changed their currency to Euros recently (2 years ago)

While Zagreb seems like an obvious shopping spot, cities like Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, and Sibenik offer better deals on local products such as olive oil, truffle delicacies, and lavender. A great find was the "Discover Croatia" chain store, which consistently had lower prices than other souvenir shops in Zagreb. Besides shopping, Croatia offers several unique and memorable experiences perfect for honeymooners or adventurous travelers. Truffle hunting was an absolute highlight—it's not only fun but rewarding when you enjoy a meal prepared with fresh truffles afterward. Another unusual activity was swimming with horses, where you ride horses through a river, combining horse riding with an immersive water experience. Dining in the sky was breathtaking, offering unforgettable views of the sunset and sea while enjoying your meal high above the ground. Island hopping, though popular, was slightly underwhelming compared to other destinations like Turkey, so you might want to prioritize other adventures or research specific islands beforehand. Practical tips are just as important: finding parking, especially in city centers like Split, is challenging and can lead to fines if you're not cautious. Parallel parking on roads not designated for parking can result in costly tickets, but paying within three days gets you a 50% discount on fines, and you can conveniently settle payments at any bank or post office. Lastly, be mindful that Croatia has become more expensive recently, partly due to inflation and the adoption of the Euro two years ago. Budget accordingly for accommodations, dining, and experiences to enjoy your honeymoon without surprises. Overall, Croatia blends stunning natural beauty with distinctive cultural experiences, making it a fantastic honeymoon destination for couples looking for adventure and romance.
