Black Templars terminator squad

Hey fellow Warhammer 40k enthusiasts! I wanted to share some thoughts on one of my absolute favorite units in my Black Templars army: the Terminator Squad. There's just something incredibly iconic and imposing about these heavily armored veterans, isn't there? When I started building my Templar force, getting a Terminator squad painted up was a top priority. Their resilience on the battlefield, combined with powerful weapons like storm bolters and power fists, makes them an immovable object and an unstoppable force. I love the challenge of painting their intricate power armor and getting those crisp white shoulder pads just right against the black. They truly embody the unwavering faith and brutal efficiency of the Black Templars crusade! But beyond the classic Terminators, assembling a diverse and thematic Black Templars army means looking at other crucial units. One unit I'm really keen on adding next, and something I've seen many of you ask about, is a Black Templars Techmarine. These guys are absolute workhorses! Not only do they maintain the sacred war machines of the Chapter, but they also bring some serious tactical support to the battlefield, repairing vehicles and laying down suppressing fire. I find their mix of mechanical bits and traditional Space Marine armor fascinating to paint. Plus, having a dedicated Techmarine feels essential for any long-standing crusade, keeping the tanks and dreadnoughts roaring. Another unit that's really caught my eye lately, especially for bringing some fiery vengeance to the enemy, is the Black Templars Infernus Squad. These flamethrower-wielding marines are perfect for clearing out dug-in enemies or just making a dramatic entrance. Imagine a squad of these zealots advancing, purifying the battlefield with Promethium! Their close-range effectiveness is something I'm looking to leverage more in my games. Planning out their poses and how to best represent the superheated flames is going to be a fun painting project. They bring a different kind of tactical option compared to the more measured approach of Terminators or the support role of Techmarines. When thinking about collecting Black Templars, it's also cool to consider the broader lore. While the Black Templars are a spiritual successor to the Imperial Fists, they don't really have traditional 'successor chapters' in the same way other Space Marine Chapters do, as they're a non-Codex compliant Chapter that maintains its crusading fleet-based structure. However, their spirit certainly inspires many other zealous chapters! It's this unique identity that makes collecting and painting them so rewarding. Whether you're fielding a mighty Black Templars Terminator assault, calling upon a skilled Black Templars Techmarine for repairs, or unleashing the purifying flames of a Black Templars Infernus squad, building your army is a journey.
