Sophomore year is a critical time in high school as students often begin to explore more specialized subjects while building on foundational knowledge. My schedule included World History from the Ancient World to the Information Age, which provides a comprehensive look at the development of civilizations and significant global events, offering a broad understanding of how the modern world has been shaped. English 2 was another core class, focusing on critical reading and writing skills necessary for academic success. This course helped me develop my analytical abilities and improve communication, which are essential for all areas of study. In science, I took Physics, a challenging class that dives into fundamental concepts such as motion, energy, and force. The class also introduced equations, like the famous E=mc^2 formula from Einstein, which connects energy and mass, and other important constants such as electric charge values. Physics nurtures problem-solving skills and is vital for students interested in STEM fields. Physical Education is a required course that promotes fitness and wellness. It helps maintain a healthy lifestyle, reduce stress, and build teamwork skills. Additionally, I participated in ASB (Associated Student Body), which is a leadership role that offers experience in event planning, school governance, and community involvement. This role also helps develop interpersonal and organizational skills. Planning ahead, I’m looking forward to sharing my junior and senior year classes, which will include more advanced coursework and electives that align with my interests and goals. If you’re curious about any aspects of high school or have specific questions about these courses or extracurricular activities, feel free to ask. Navigating high school can be both challenging and rewarding, and sharing experiences helps us all learn and grow together.
