🌶️ Missing Xinjiang Food? Go Here.

Ever since my trip to Xinjiang, I've had random cravings for those bold, smoky flavours—especially the skewers. 🤤 Alijiang definitely brought back all the memories.

What we ordered:

🥩 Xinjiang Lamb Skewers – juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned.

🥗 Cold Beef with Parmesan Cheese – an unexpected combination that worked surprisingly well.

🍖 Alijiang Grilled Lamb Cage – smoky, flavourful, and perfect for sharing.

🍜 Xinjiang Fried Vermicelli with Chicken – spicy but SO good 🌶️ Easily one of my favourites!

🍲 Alijiang Dapanji – hearty, comforting, and packed with flavour.

🥤 Apricot Drink – refreshing and the perfect pairing with the richer dishes.

💭 My thoughts:

The dishes are generous, packed with fragrant spices, and tasted surprisingly authentic. If you've been to Xinjiang before, this place will definitely bring back memories. If you haven't, it's a great introduction to the region's unique cuisine.

👭 Come with a group! The portions are generous, so it's the perfect place to share a variety of dishes.

... Read moreVisiting Alijiang is like taking a mini culinary journey to Xinjiang without leaving Singapore. One thing I personally appreciate about their menu is the rich use of traditional spices such as cumin and chili powder, which create that signature smoky aroma Xinjiang cuisine is known for. The Xinjiang Lamb Skewers truly stand out—they’re tender and well-marinated, delivering a burst of flavor with each bite. Also, the Cold Beef with Parmesan Cheese might sound unusual for Xinjiang food, but it pleasantly surprised me by blending creamy cheese with the robust meat flavors, adding a unique twist to the meal. If you’re curious about traditional dishes, the Alijiang Dapanji is a must-try. This hearty chicken and potato stew is packed with savory spices and is incredibly comforting, making it perfect for sharing. I paired this with their Apricot Drink, which offered a pleasant fruity balance to the spicier dishes. From my experience, the key to enjoying Xinjiang food at Alijiang is to go with friends or family so you can order a variety of dishes to share. This way, you get a full taste of the regional cuisine’s diversity. Also, the interior's subtle Silk Road elements add to the overall dining ambiance, making it a memorable experience beyond just the food. For anyone missing the flavors of Xinjiang or looking to try something new and authentic, Alijiang at VivoCity is definitely worth a visit. The portions are generous, prices reasonable, and the taste authentic enough to satisfy any craving for bold, smoky, and spice-infused dishes from the Silk Road culinary tradition.
