haraz coffee house

... Read moreI recently tried the matcha latte and chicken puff from Haraz Coffee House and wanted to share some additional thoughts based on my experience. The matcha latte unfortunately came off as quite watery, with an overpowering sweetness and a strong hint of spice that masked the natural matcha flavor. For matcha lovers who appreciate the rich, earthy taste, this might be disappointing. Given the quality and taste, I found that making matcha at home, which costs approximately $17 for ingredients, delivers a more satisfying experience and better control over flavor. The chicken puff was pleasantly aromatic and generously sized, but the taste itself felt ordinary, especially considering the price point. For those looking for a snack to satisfy hunger quickly, it’s decent, but not extraordinary enough to make me return. When I compare this to other local Austin eateries offering similar items, I feel there are better value options out there. Overall, if you prioritize authentic matcha flavor and memorable bakery bites, Haraz Coffee House might not fully meet your expectations. However, if you enjoy exploring local cafes and supporting neighborhood businesses, it’s worth a visit to judge for yourself. For me, the experience reinforced my preference for homemade matcha lattes and choosing cafés with stronger, well-balanced flavors. This review can hopefully help fellow foodies in Austin decide how to spend their café dollars wisely.
