Let’s play hide and seek :3

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a bit more about my creative process and introduce you properly to Ookii_Monster, the star of my latest animation meme. I've noticed a lot of you are curious about Ookii_Monster, and I'm so excited to delve deeper into this character! Ookii_Monster is one of my original characters (OCs) that I've been developing for a while now. They're a mischievous, yet endearing creature, often found in unexpected places, which is why the 'hide and seek' theme felt absolutely perfect for this animation. I envision Ookii_Monster as a small, elusive being with large, expressive eyes that betray a hint of curiosity and playfulness. They have a soft, almost plush-like texture, making them irresistibly cute, even when they're being a little impish. Creating an OC animation, especially one for an animation meme, is always an adventure. It starts with the initial spark of an idea – in this case, picturing Ookii_Monster playfully peeking from behind objects. From there, I move into character design, refining Ookii_Monster's expressions and movements to ensure they convey the intended personality. For this particular 'hide and seek' fanart, I focused on smooth transitions and a slightly exaggerated style to really capture that meme energy. The technical side involves sketching keyframes, then in-betweening to make the movement fluid. It's a meticulous process, but seeing Ookii_Monster come to life frame by frame is incredibly rewarding. I think the challenge of making an OC recognizable and engaging through just a few seconds of animation is what I love most about animation memes. It pushes me to be creative with limited resources and really focus on the core appeal of the character. For those of you thinking about creating your own OCs or trying your hand at animation, my biggest advice is to start small. Don't be afraid to experiment with different styles and themes. Think about what makes your character unique and how you can express that through movement or a single image. Ookii_Monster, for instance, came from a desire to combine cute and a little bit spooky, and focusing on their eyes and small stature helped define their look.
