How I made my Starfire Cosplay 💜👽
Step 1- having a pattern is definitely essential when beginning no matter what level seamstress you are. If you don’t know how to make your own pattern, Etsy has this great pattern and all you will need to adjust is making the sleeves longer.
Step 2- some supplies you may already have but some you may need to get.
You will need 4 way stretch fabric and a place I buy mine is at bluemoonfabrics. You can find them on Instagram where they also post tips on how to take care of your costumes as well as fabrics if you ever arnt sure. You will need a bikini clip which you can find off Amazon (I got like 100 for 10 bucks) and you’ll need elastic for the leg holes. Now depending on the version your doing I used silver bias tape to create her silver details on the top.
Step 3- once you have your supplies have your pattern your gonna cut it out, what I did is used the pattern to map out a general idea where I want her details to go so I feel more confident on the real thing.
Step 4- here’s the fun part is putting it together! Make sure when you use 4way stretch fabric you’re using the correct needle size as well as always use a zigzag stich. Depending on what you have I suggest using a serging machine to clean up the seams but it’s alright if you don’t have one it’s not needed it’s just a preference. Also some fabrics are sensitive to heat so if you iron never use a high heat unless your fabric can tolerate it and always double check it’s not on a high heat (I made that mistake before oops)
Step 5- time to try on and get into cosplay!
