Knee preservation
How to keep your knees safe. As a gym girl #workout #summerbod #gymtips
Preserving your knees is essential, especially if you’re dedicated to regular gym workouts and want to maintain long-term joint health. From my personal experience, one of the best ways to protect your knees is by avoiding high-impact cardio like running if you carry extra weight. Running can put significant strain on your knees and ankles, potentially leading to discomfort or injury over time. Instead, I recommend focusing on low-impact exercises such as cycling, swimming, or using an elliptical machine. These activities provide excellent cardiovascular benefits without stressing the knee joints. In addition to selecting the right cardio, managing the intensity of your weight training is crucial. I aim to personal best (PB) only about twice per month to avoid excessive strain. Most of my workouts involve lifting at 50-80% of my maximum capacity, which helps build endurance and strength while minimizing the risk of injury. Another key aspect is nutritional support for joint health. Daily supplementation with collagen and glucosamine has made a noticeable difference for me. Collagen supports the structural integrity of cartilage, tendons, and ligaments, while glucosamine helps reduce inflammation and promote cartilage repair. Consistency in these habits—smart cardio choices, controlled workout intensity, and targeted supplements—has allowed me to keep my knees healthy and active. For anyone looking to create a sustainable fitness routine without compromising joint health, these strategies can be a game changer. Always listen to your body and consider consulting a healthcare professional if you experience persistent knee pain or discomfort.
