Fun day at work
Sippin on some water in my new Starbucks cup on my way to class. Something I really love doing: squeezing toy pigs that make sounds! During our lecture, one of the instructors was in charge of ringing a doorbell. First group to squeeze their mascot (pig, chicken, flamingo, or banana) got a point to win a prize. I enjoyed every second of squeezing that little thing because it was loud!! We all won a rubber duck. I chose the little guy in the pic.

It’s incredible how a little unexpected fun can completely transform a regular lecture! I mean, who knew that squeezing a squeaky toy pig could be so exhilarating? It really got me thinking about how important it is to inject some joy and lightheartedness into our routines, especially when we're deep into studies or work. It's not just about winning a prize, although my new little rubber duck friend is absolutely adorable and now has a prime spot on my desk! It’s about that shared moment of laughter and friendly competition that breaks the monotony and creates lasting memories. Honestly, I think more classes should incorporate these kinds of interactive games. They're such great icebreakers and help everyone feel more engaged. Imagine if every lecture had a quick five-minute challenge – maybe a pop quiz game, a mini-debate, or even a creative task. It really wakes up your brain and makes the information stick better. It makes learning feel less like a chore and more like an adventure. I’ve found that when I have these little bursts of fun, I’m actually more focused and productive afterward. It’s like hitting a reset button for your mind and re-energizing your spirit, especially when you're tackling complex subjects. Speaking of prizes, isn't there something so uniquely satisfying about winning a small, quirky token like a rubber duck? It’s not about the monetary value; it’s the story behind it. Every time I look at my little rubber duck, I'll remember the hilarious moment we were all frantically squeezing our mascots, trying to be the first to respond to the doorbell. These small, personal mementos are so much better than just a certificate or a generic award. They become little anchors for happy memories and add a touch of personality to your space. Plus, they can be great conversation starters! I might even start a small collection now that I have my first one. And it’s not just in class – I try to bring this same energy into my daily life. Whether it’s starting my day with a favorite drink in my new Starbucks cup, which always makes my morning commute feel a little more special, or finding small ways to personalize my study space, these little things make a huge difference. Creating a comfortable and inspiring environment, even if it's just a corner of a shared desk, can truly boost your mood and focus. For anyone out there juggling a demanding schedule, perhaps even on the journey to becoming LVN Licensed, remember to carve out these moments of self-care and unexpected delight. They're not distractions; they're essential fuel for your mind and spirit, helping you stay motivated and avoid burnout. What small, quirky things do you collect, or what helps you find joy and engagement in your busy days? I’d love to know your secrets for keeping things fun and practical even when life gets serious!
