Paro Seals!!
Have you heard of these?! I didn’t until today! I’m holding Lucy and not pictured is Ricky. They’re touch activated companions for patients with dementia. They are programmed to make certain animal noises that mock cats or dogs when they whimper or purr. You scratch them a certain way and their heads move in different directions and purr. Their whiskers are their sensors so when you touch their noses or put them nose to nose they really get going!
They’re a whopping $6,000 each so these are the only two in the building. My coworkers and I took pics with them and basically cuddled them like they were real!
