Craving validation is something many people experience, yet it often comes with feelings of embarrassment or self-doubt. From my personal experience, acknowledging this need openly can be incredibly freeing. There were times when I spent countless hours scrolling through social media, fixated on comments and reactions, feeling both excited and vulnerable. It felt awkward admitting just how much such validation impacted my mood and self-esteem. What I've realized is that seeking validation doesn't mean you're weak or overly dependent on others. Instead, it reflects our basic human desire to feel seen, accepted, and understood. We all want to connect and know our feelings and efforts matter. The trick is to find a healthy balance—appreciating affirmations without letting them define our worth. For me, allowing myself to be vulnerable about my emotions helped me build resilience. I stopped hiding those wants and instead started embracing them as part of my authentic self. This also helped me recognize when I was forgiving others who hurt me simply because I wanted their approval, a pattern I’m actively working to change.
