Newest obsession: contour sticks
I am absolutely obsessed with these trending contour sticks. They’re easy to blend and basically great to be used as an all over sculpting stick.
A few different brands make them, but the one that I’m using in this is the precision contour stick by smash box Cosmetics! It retails for $26 and comes in five shades, I’m using the one “light”.
This is honestly one of my favorite products to keep in my bag. If I decide that I want to feel a little bit more put together last minute it’s blend with your fingers and can be used on your entire face and even as a lip liner if you’re feeling a cool under toned brown. If you haven’t tried one of these, you were seriously missing out and it makes your life so much easier!!

Ever felt like contouring was too complicated or required a professional touch? Trust me, I was there too! For the longest time, I shied away from anything that involved intricate makeup techniques. But then, I discovered the magic of contour sticks, and my entire routine changed. It’s no exaggeration to say they’ve become one of my absolute must-haves for quickly achieving a more defined and sculpted look. So, what exactly is a contour stick? Think of it as your secret weapon for enhancing your natural bone structure. Unlike traditional powder contours that can sometimes look harsh or feel chalky, a stick formula is creamy, making it incredibly easy to apply directly to your face. It's essentially a darker, cooler-toned shade designed to create shadows, giving the illusion of depth and definition. I personally gravitated towards contour sticks because of their incredible convenience. No more fumbling with brushes and messy powders when I'm in a rush! They're super portable, perfect for throwing in your bag for touch-ups, and the blendability is just unmatched. You can literally use your fingers, a sponge, or a brush – whatever you prefer – to seamlessly meld it into your skin for a natural finish. Choosing the right shade is key. You want a stick that's about two to three shades darker than your natural skin tone, with a cool or neutral undertone. Avoid anything too warm or orange, as that can look more like bronzer than a true contour. If you're unsure, testing a small swipe on your jawline in natural light is always a good idea! Now for the fun part – how I actually use my contour stick to sculpt and define my face, which is exactly what you see in my before and after moments! My Easy Step-by-Step Guide to Sculpting with a Contour Stick: Placement is Power: After your foundation and concealer, grab your contour stick. I start by drawing a line just below my cheekbones, from my ear towards the corner of my mouth, stopping about two fingers' width from my lips. This is where you want that shadow to naturally fall. Forehead Definition: If you want to create the illusion of a smaller forehead or add warmth, I apply a little along my hairline and temples. It helps to bring balance to the face. Nose Sculpting: For a more defined nose, I draw two thin lines down the sides of my nose bridge, avoiding the very center. This trick can subtly slim and shape. Jawline Pop: To create a sharper jawline, I draw a line directly along my jawbone, extending down towards my chin. This really helps to create a clean, crisp edge. Blend, Blend, Blend! This is the most crucial step! Using my fingertips (they warm up the product beautifully), a damp beauty sponge, or a dense brush, I gently tap and buff the lines into my skin. The goal is to diffuse the product so there are no harsh lines, just a seamless shadow. You'll literally see the transformation from a “before” face with lines to a beautifully sculpted “after” look. It’s all about making it look like your natural shadows! Beyond sculpting, I've even used my contour stick as a cool-toned lip liner, giving my lips a fuller, more defined look. It’s so versatile! If you're looking for an effortless way to enhance your features and feel more put-together, I truly believe a good contour stick is a game-changer. Don't be afraid to experiment – you might just find your new favorite makeup product!
