This unique competition format challenges both rider and horse to rack up points by jumping a course in any order or direction, with the timer adding an extra layer of intensity. Unlike traditional show jumping, where a set course must be followed, Gamblers Choice allows more freedom but demands quick decision-making and flawless execution. One of the thrilling parts of this event is the presence of the 'Joker' jump, which offers a high risk-reward opportunity. Clearing it adds substantial points, but a fault on that jump can deduct points as well. This makes every jump count and requires Noodle and me to be perfectly in sync. I always try to keep the course flowing smoothly, avoid any rollback turns that can slow us down, and stay focused not to miss any jumps. What makes this experience truly special is how much Noodle has grown and improved. He’s become calmer and more confident in the show ring, which is so rewarding to see. His love for jumping shines through every round, and it's clear he enjoys the competition just as much as I do. The moment we buzz through the timer and finish a strong round feels like a big win, regardless of the score. For anyone interested in show jumping, I highly recommend trying out Gamblers Choice classes. They add an exciting twist to the sport that tests your relationship with your horse and your ability to think on your feet. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to build confidence and have fun competing. Watching Noodle and feeling that winning streak grow has been a highlight of my riding journey this year.
