Glute Exercises That Will Also Grow Your Quads💚
This one is for my quad dominant girlies who are looking to grow their glutes but still engage the quads. These compound movements will not only engage the glutes and give you a good pump while blasting the quads in the process!!
In my experience , people who are quad dominant don’t have trouble seeing growth in their quads. As a quad dominant girly myself, my quads are crazy strong so I don’t really have to do a lot of isolation to see growth. But if I’m looking for an exercise to blast my glutes but also engage my quads, these are my go to’s!
QUADS THAT MATCH GLUTES >>
Hey everyone! If you're like me, a 'quad dominant' gym-goer who’s always chasing that balanced look with strong, developed glutes and quads, then you know the struggle is real. It can feel like your quads steal the show, even when you're trying to target your glutes. But through trial and error, and really focusing on my form, I've discovered some key techniques that make a huge difference in hitting both muscle groups effectively. Let me share my secrets for getting those 'QUADS THAT MATCH GLUTES'! First up, let's talk about the Bulgarian Split Squat. This exercise is a game-changer, and it’s one of my absolute favorites for really isolating one leg at a time. For a bulgarian split squat quad glute workout, the key is your foot placement and torso lean. If you want to emphasize your glutes, take a wider stance and lean your torso slightly forward, almost like you're bowing. This allows for a deeper stretch in the glutes at the bottom. If you want to feel it more in your quads, keep a slightly more upright torso and a narrower stance. Always focus on going deep enough to feel the stretch in the working glute, keeping your front knee tracking over your toes. Understanding the bulgarian split squat muscles worked really helps here – you’re hitting your glutes, quads, and even getting some core stability. Next, the Glute-Biased Leg Press. This is where foot placement becomes crucial for targeting. If you want to make it a glute biased leg press, place your feet higher up on the platform, about shoulder-width apart, and point your toes slightly outward. As you lower the weight, let your knees come towards your chest. This high-foot position minimizes quad engagement and puts more tension on your glutes. For a more balanced approach or if you really want to understand the leg press muscles worked diagram, remember that lower foot placement tends to hit the quads more, while higher aims for the glutes. Always push through your heels, especially when targeting glutes! Then we have Reverse Lunges. These are fantastic for both glute activation and quad strength. To maximize the glute engagement in a reverse lunge glutes exercise, really focus on taking a big step back. As you lunge down, envision pushing through the heel of your front foot as you drive back up. This cue is essential for feeling it in your glutes rather than letting your quads take over. Engaging your core throughout the movement also helps with stability and ensuring a full range of motion, which is vital for muscle growth. I often hold dumbbells to increase the resistance and feel that extra burn! And don't forget Lateral Lunges! These are often overlooked but are incredible for hitting your inner thighs and glute medius, giving you that rounded look. For me, the secret is a wide stance and really pushing through the heel of the working leg as you come back up. It’s a slightly different sensation than a traditional lunge, but once you find it, you’ll love the way it sculpts your legs. Beyond specific exercises, I've learned that truly understanding your body and making small form adjustments based on how you feel the muscle working is key. Don't just go through the motions; create that mind-muscle connection. Warming up properly also helps activate the right muscles from the start. By incorporating these techniques and focusing on precise form, I’ve finally started to see my glutes catch up to my strong quads. Give these a try in your next leg day and let me know how you feel that amazing pump!
