Three French and Indian tourists arrested for stealing more than $3,500 at Changi Airport 🇸🇬✈️
According to a statement from Singapore police on May 4, a 60-year-old French man and two Indian women, aged 59 and 61, were arrested in connection with the thefts in the Transit Areas of Changi Airport Terminal 1 and 3 separately.
First episode (April 22)
The 60-year-old Frenchman stole more than $750 worth of sunglasses from a shop in Terminal 1
According to CCTV records, he was found to have left the shop without paying and was only arrested before the plane took off. Two more cans of nearly $70 worth of tea were also found stolen from another shop from him.
Second episode (April 23)
Two Indian women stole jewellery worth a total of more than $2,700, including bracelets, rings and a watch, while the shop worker in Terminal 3 was catering to another customer
The two also stole toy cars and keychains from another shop
They were also arrested before the plane took off and all the items were recovered

All three will be charged in court on May 5
Punishment
He could be sentenced to up to 7 years in prison for domestic theft (Theft in wells), or fined
For possession of fraudulent means (Fraudulent) also punishable by imprisonment of up to 1 year (or a fine of $3,000)
