Singapore's Foreign Minister says diplomatic visits to the two Koreas go on a series
SINGAPORE Foreign Minister Vivian Balak Rishnan has made consecutive diplomatic visits to the two Koreas
He visited Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, on May 26 and 27
Balak Rishnan held talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Cho Sung-hui in Pyongyang
On 27 May, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore announced that the trip by Balak Rishnan was a "work trip." The two ministers had discussed a number of broad issues, including regional and international issues.
On 28 May, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore met with South Korean Minister Cho Hun in Seoul. Cho said that the goals of the government of the two Koreas were to be reconciled by members of the Association of Singapore and other Southeast Asian States (ASEAN).
Balak Rishnan also stressed the need for close coordinated work between South Korea and Singapore for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
