... Read moreHey everyone! I’ve been diving deep into what it truly means to be indwelled by the Holy Spirit and how vital submission to the Holy Spirit is in our daily walk. It’s a topic that often comes up in our #devotiontime and it’s been incredibly transformative for me. When we talk about being indwelled, it's more than just a theological term; it’s a profound personal reality. It means that as believers, the Holy Spirit actually lives within us, not just visits. This incredible truth from scripture means we carry around the very presence of God! For me, realizing this shifted my perspective entirely. It's like having a divine GPS, a constant guide and comforter. This inner presence empowers us to live a life that reflects Christ, giving us strength, wisdom, and comfort in every situation. It’s not just about feeling good, but about being equipped for every good work. Now, let's talk about submission to the Holy Spirit. This is where the rubber meets the road, isn't it? The OCR mentioned phrases like 'relinquish control to God' and 'willing to yield all aspects of life to Him,' and those really resonate with my experience. It’s easy to say we trust God, but actually letting go of our own plans and desires can be incredibly challenging. I've found that true submission isn't a one-time decision but a continuous, daily choice. It involves listening to that gentle nudge or strong conviction from within, and then acting on it, even when it feels uncomfortable or counter-intuitive to our worldly instincts. For instance, when I think about Ephesians 5:15-21, especially the call to 'walk circumspectly' and 'be filled with the Spirit,' it highlights this practical submission. To 'walk circumspectly' means to live carefully and wisely, making the most of every opportunity. How often do we rush through life without seeking divine guidance? Being filled with the Spirit, as the passage encourages, isn't a passive state. It’s about consciously allowing the Spirit to influence our thoughts, words, and actions. It's yielding our will to God's perfect will, trusting that His ways are always better than our own. The idea of 'submitting to one another in the fear of God' (Ephesians 5:21) also ties into this. When we are truly submitted to the Holy Spirit, it naturally extends to healthier relationships with those around us. It fosters humility, patience, and love. Even the example of 'Husbands, love your wives' in that chapter, when seen through the lens of Spirit-filled living, takes on a deeper meaning of selfless, sacrificial love. My personal journey has shown me that the more I strive to relinquish control to God and become willing to yield all aspects of life to Him, the more peace and purpose I experience. It's not about perfection, but about an ongoing process of surrendering and trusting. If you're seeking to deepen your connection with the Holy Spirit and live a life truly indwelled by His presence, I encourage you to reflect on these verses and consider what 'submission' looks like for you today. It’s a rewarding path that truly unlocks the fullness of what it means to be a believer.
