Adhd and Studying Stress

#studymotivation #lemon8challenge

I desperately want to get back into academia, but I need help with being consistent.

♡Tips I noticed that work:

1️⃣Body doubling

⭐️Overall rating: 8/10

🤔Cons: Might be chatting instead, or they could end up being too distracting.

👍Pros: I get things done, and when they take breaks I'll be reminded to take one too

2️⃣Teaching/Tutoring

⭐️Overall rating: 9/10

🤔Cons: I'll have to know the material, which can deter me due to imposter syndrome.

👍Pros: I'll be forced to understand better so I can easily explain the information especially if they ask questions.

3️⃣Routine/Schedule

⭐️Overall rating: 7/10

🤔Cons: I would have to manage this schedule by myself if I'm not enrolled.

👍Pros: I would have consistent times when I know what to do and what to study for.

Overall, I'm still looking for more feasible options for me to get things on track. Maybe I'll update this post after I try out some different tactics!!!

... Read moreManaging ADHD while studying can be challenging, but there are numerous strategies tailored for effective learning. Many find that body doubling significantly enhances focus; this method involves studying alongside someone else, which can help minimize distractions and provide mutual encouragement. The social element can make studying less isolating and motivate you to stay on task. Tutoring or teaching your peers can also reinforce your understanding of the material. Although you may experience imposter syndrome, explaining concepts to someone else requires a deeper grasp of the subject and encourages active learning. This approach not only solidifies your knowledge but also builds confidence in your academic skills. Establishing a structured routine is another powerful tool. Setting specific study times can create a sense of predictability and control, which is especially beneficial for those with ADHD. Utilizing planners, calendar reminders, or apps can help maintain this schedule, ensuring that your study sessions become a regular part of your day. Lastly, don’t hesitate to explore additional techniques like mindfulness or physical activity breaks, which can improve concentration and relieve study-related stress. Remember, it's essential to monitor what works best for you and make adjustments as necessary; finding your rhythm takes time and experimentation. These strategies are not one-size-fits-all, but they can significantly aid in creating a conducive learning environment.
