SICK BABY MUST HAVES. 🤒
Having sick babies is the worst but it’s that time of year!
Here’s some of my must haves for sick little ones. ♥️
- Snot suckers!! Getting that mucus out of there is so important. I like to spray with saline and then flush out the nose right after!
- Garlic Mullin Oil. This little oil will save your life! Usually when babies are congested it can easily turn into ear infections. A few drops of this in each ear whenever your little one is under the weather can help prevent ear infections! 👂
- Chest rub! Baby friendly chest rub can be super soothing and you can also put some on their feet to help circulation at night and cut down on coughing and congestion!
- Tubby Todd. There’s nothing worse than the dry skin around your nose after all the wiping and blowing. 🤧 This stuff is magic for dry skin!

When taking care of a sick baby, every parent wants to ensure they have the right remedies on hand to alleviate discomfort. Among the essentials, snot suckers (nasal aspirators) are invaluable, especially when used with saline sprays to clear stubborn mucus. It’s recommended to apply saline before suctioning to maximize effectiveness in clearing nasal passages. Garlic mullein oil is another noteworthy option; it has a history of being used traditionally to prevent ear infections, especially when babies are congested. A couple of drops in each ear can help during cold season, potentially reducing the risk of complications. For skin irritations or dryness caused by constant nose wiping, consider Tubby Todd's All Over Ointment. It is designed to soothe dry skin and can be applied around the cheeks and nose, offering much-needed relief to delicate skin. Moreover, gentle chest rubs designed for babies can provide comfort, particularly during nighttime, by promoting easier breathing through their congestion. Parents often seek advice on additional home remedies. Honey (for babies over one year) can be soothing for a cough, and maintaining hydration with plenty of fluids is crucial. If symptoms persist or worsen, consulting a pediatrician is always the best course of action. These tips are gathered from various sources and personal experiences shared within parenting communities, emphasizing a gentle, caring approach when dealing with sick little ones.
